Goobne raised the prices of nine chicken products by 1,900 won each on the 15th, citing increases in delivery fees, labor costs, and rent. This is the first time Goobne has raised prices in two years since 2022.
With this price increase, the signature menu item, Gochu Basasak, now approaches 20,000 won. Its price rose from 18,000 won to 19,900 won. The Original increased from 16,000 won to 17,900 won, and Namhae Garlic Basasak went up from 19,000 won to 20,900 won. Oven Basasak, Cheese Basasak, Galbi Cheonwang, Bulgeum Chicken, Volcano, and Seasoned Hero also saw their prices rise by 1,900 won each.
Goobne explained that this price hike aims to improve franchisees' profits. Due to continuous deterioration in franchisees' profitability caused by rising delivery fees, labor costs, and rent over recent years, the company reluctantly decided to raise prices on some items in response to franchisees' demands for profit improvement.
Goobne stated that it did not raise pizza prices to minimize the burden on consumers. Previously, in February 2022, Goobne also raised the prices of Original and Gochu Basasak by 1,000 won each.
