Polaris Office Advances Cloud-Based Document AI and Demonstrates Performance... Selected for Ministry of Science and ICT National Project

Polaris Office announced on the 15th that it has been selected as a joint research and development institution for a new national project by the Ministry of Science and ICT. The national project is a software computing industry core technology development initiative, running from this month until December 2026.

Polaris Office will serve as a joint research institution in a consortium led by Innogrid. Other participants include Surromind, Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information, BioBrain, SoftOnNet, and Korea Cloud Industry Association.

The consortium aims to develop a cloud-based AI (Artificial Intelligence) model and service platform (PaaS). The goal of the national project is to develop AI model and service platform technologies that operate across various cloud environments. Currently, AI solutions depend on specific cloud environments.

In this national project, Polaris Office is responsible for advancing and demonstrating document AI technology. Based on a generative AI model optimized for document creation, it will provide ▲ an all-in-one function capable of document creation, summarization, and content generation ▲ ASK DOC, which structures unstructured data documents including document entities to utilize AI analysis data ▲ and AI document assistant services through AI models trained on enterprise structured data.

A Polaris Office representative said, "This is a great opportunity for the domestic AI and cloud ecosystem to be revitalized along with the government's 4th basic cloud plan," adding, "We will successfully support the national project leveraging our know-how from commercializing cloud-based services (SaaS) and AI-powered document services to 130 million global users over the past 10 years."

He continued, "We will expand our AI product lineup into the business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-government (B2G) sectors based on this research."

Meanwhile, Polaris Office received the 'Cloud Industry Award,' the ministerial award, at the 'Grand Cloud Conference 2023' hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and organized by the National IT Industry Promotion Agency and the Korea Intelligent Information Society Agency.
