For Advanced On-Site Safety Management
Franchise Management 'AI Convenience Store Partner' to be Introduced in the Second Half of the Year
GS25 announced on the 15th that it will introduce a ‘Smart Intelligent Safety Management System’ at convenience store construction sites being built or renovated for openings starting next month.
The GS25 Smart Intelligent Safety Management System integrates artificial intelligence (AI) technology with CCTV. The AI automatically analyzes dangerous situations and sends alerts to managers. When the CCTV detects fire, emergency calls, prolonged falls, lack of safety helmets, or external intrusions at the construction site, it automatically sends emergency notifications to the GS25 control center through a cloud AI platform, which the head office safety management officer then verifies and takes action on.
Safety management at convenience store construction sites previously varied depending on the supervisor’s capabilities. With the introduction of this system, GS25 plans to establish ▲work efficiency through integrated safety management ▲process simplification ▲close sharing of construction status with partners ▲advancement of safety management levels, and to prevent safety accidents.
Additionally, GS25 recently enhanced operational efficiency by introducing AI in store operations. The GS25 Gasan Smart Store, which opened in October last year, is a ‘Take&Go’ store where customers enter by scanning a smartphone QR code and automatically pay when they leave with the desired products. The entire convenience store consumer process?from entry, customer service, product purchase, to payment?is operated solely by AI solutions.
To efficiently manage franchise stores, GS25 also established the ‘AI Convenience Store Partner.’ Using big data (customer purchase data, product sales data), it provides detailed information such as product recommendations tailored to each store’s characteristics, optimal shelf display strategies, and order quantity guidance based on demand forecasting. It is planned to be introduced nationwide in the second half of the year.
Heo Woo-jin, head of the GS Retail Facility Support Team, stated, “We expect to efficiently control GS25’s individual construction site safety management systems by integrating them into one using AI technology.” He added, “GS25 will continue to build an environment that satisfies both customers and store owners by utilizing various advanced technologies.”
