'The Most Beautiful Festival in Seoul' 2024 Jungnang Seoul Rose Festival to be Held May 18-25
The '2024 Jungnang Seoul Rose Festival,' representing May in Jungnang, has started its countdown since the kickoff meeting held on the 12th.
At the kickoff meeting held in the basement auditorium of Jungnang-gu Office (Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi), the Jungnang Cultural Foundation (Chairman Pyo Jae-sun) presented its promotion plan. Additionally, there was a session to listen carefully to residents' opinions to address the shortcomings of the previous festival.
The 'Prettiest Festival in Seoul,' the 2024 Jungnang Seoul Rose Festival, will be held for eight days from May 18 to 25 along the Jungnangcheon area. The main event of the festival, the Grand Rose Festival, will take place over two days from May 18 to 19, and on May 25, the 'Jungnang Artist Festival' will be held around Gyeomjaegyo Bridge as a related event.
This year's festival aims to be led and united by Jungnang residents, targeting regional economic revitalization and the development of Jungnang rose culture through three strategies.
The first is ▲Rose Parade ▲Jungnang Residents Singing Contest ▲Operation of neighborhood sharing yards, expanding 'programs in which residents can participate.'
The second strategy is to declare the festival period as 'Jungnang Rose Week' and link the festival with nearby commercial districts and cultural events to attract more tourists and promote regional economic revitalization.
The final strategy is the 'strengthening of the rose theme.' From the Rose Market to products using the Seoul Rose Festival BI (Rose Items), rose exhibitions, and the Rose Art Garden where visitors can experience everything about roses, a map indicating the distribution of 209 species and 10 million roses planted in Jungnang Rose Park will be produced to help visitors fully enjoy the blooming roses.
Yu Kyung-ae, CEO of the Jungnang Cultural Foundation, stated, "We are preparing a substantial festival that Jungnang residents can be proud of and visitors will be satisfied with, and we ask for much interest and cooperation in creating the 2024 Jungnang Seoul Rose Festival where happiness and safety coexist."
Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi of Jungnang-gu also said, "Our top priority is a festival where Jungnang residents can enjoy and be happy, followed by a successful festival attracting many visitors from across the country. We will actively cooperate and, above all, ensure perfect safety management so that everyone can watch and enjoy the festival safely."
