Now in its 35th year, MICF is an exhibition related to pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare products. Approximately 1,000 well-known brands participate, and each event attracts around 35,000 buyers and visitors, making it a major exhibition in China. This year, it is held over three days at the China International Exhibition Center in Beijing.
The Korean Pavilion hosted 30 Korean companies in fields such as teething toys, infant tableware sets, homeschooling educational materials, and atopic dermatitis creams to welcome visitors. On-site, a 'Free Trade Agreement (FTA) Mobile Consultation Desk' was set up to provide consulting on utilizing the Korea-China FTA to participating companies, and the Korea Intellectual Property Protection Agency operated an 'Intellectual Property (IP) Desk' to support the protection of Korean companies' intellectual property rights in China. The consultation desk also conducted investment attraction activities supporting Chinese buyers' investments in Korea.
KOTRA plans to continue encouraging entry into the Chinese market by supporting participating companies' entry into Chinese online distribution channels even after the exhibition ends.
Hwang Jaewon, head of KOTRA's China Regional Headquarters, said, "The Chinese government's active childbirth promotion policies and the diversification of Chinese consumers will act as opportunities for Korean companies," adding, "We will continue to support excellent infant product companies in pioneering new sales channels in China."
