On the 11th, a post titled "Is it not allowed for a daughter-in-law to eat at her mother-in-law's funeral?" was uploaded on an online community. The author, A, explained, "At the mother-in-law's funeral, my husband couldn't stay at the mourner's seat because there were many visitors, and my sister-in-law and brother-in-law also left the mourner's seat often due to many friends and colleagues visiting, so I tried to keep the seat as much as possible," adding, "Especially, my sister-in-law told me to keep the mourner's seat."

She continued, "Since I could only drink water and had to keep the seat, I became very hungry. So, when there were no visitors for a moment, I went to a corner in the back and quickly ate rice, soup, and one side dish," and added, "But then my husband suddenly told me, 'Eating during the mourning period disappointed our family,' and asked for a divorce," sharing her absurd story.

A said, "Currently, my father-in-law is also critically ill, so I have to consider the father-in-law's funeral as well. I would like some advice on how to eat and behave during that funeral," adding, "I don't know whether I should secretly eat, ask for permission to eat, or just go outside to buy food and come back."

Netizens who read the story responded with comments such as, "After being treated so poorly at the mother-in-law's funeral, now worrying about the father-in-law's funeral?I'm not sure if she's kind or just frustrated," "No matter how many visitors there are, the mourner should keep the mourner's seat. The fact that they made the daughter-in-law sit there while they went to drink and eat with visitors is ridiculous," and "They don't even appreciate the wife who kept the seat."
