Electric Vehicle Charging Megastation Wins Main Award in 'Urban Design Category'

Chabi's charging station, 'Chabi Megastation,' a specialist in electric vehicle charging services, won the main prize in the 'Urban Design Category' at the globally prestigious design competition, the 'Red Dot Design Award 2024.'

The German Red Dot Design Award is considered one of the world's top three design awards alongside the iF Design Award and the American IDEA Design Award. Each year, it announces winners after evaluation by design experts representing various countries.

Chabi Megastation was designed with the goal of providing a charging experience that allows easy recognition of charging stations anywhere and comfortable charging in any environment, based on an analysis of customer needs and in-house design.

In particular, to address customers' needs to easily identify where electric vehicle charging stations are and to charge quickly, LED lighting and pole signs were installed so that EV users can easily spot the stations from afar. Additionally, signage was configured to allow users who are charging or waiting to grasp the charging time at a glance, differentiating it from the conventional simple rain-shelter type canopies.

Regarding the charger setup, efforts focused on enhancing convenience by installing ultra-fast chargers so busy city dwellers can quickly use the charging service and move on.

The awarded Chabi Megastation is already installed and operating at 19 locations nationwide, increasing satisfaction among electric vehicle charging customers.

A Chabi representative stated, “This award is especially meaningful as the design of Chabi’s concentrated charging stations and newly developed canopies has been internationally recognized. We will continue our efforts to present charging stations and chargers where Chabi’s charging technology and design harmoniously converge.”
