LG Electronics Signs MOU with GE Healthcare and Korea MS to Expand Smart Hospital Business

Speed of Smart Hospital Solution Business

LG Electronics announced on the 11th that it recently signed a 'Business Agreement for Joint Discovery and Construction of Smart Hospitals' with GE Healthcare Korea and Microsoft Korea at LG Science Park in Magok, Seoul.


The signing ceremony was attended by Jang Ik-hwan, Head of LG Electronics BS Business Division, Kim Yong-duk, CEO of GE Healthcare Korea, and Cho Won-woo, CEO of Microsoft Korea.

A smart hospital is a future-oriented hospital that integrates IT technology into hospital operations and medical treatment to provide patients with a better healthcare service experience. According to consulting firm CMI (Coherent Market Insights), the global smart hospital market size is expected to grow rapidly at an average annual rate of over 20%, from approximately $41 billion in 2022 to $153.3 billion by 2030.


Through this agreement, the three companies plan to continue collaborating to provide total solutions for the rapidly growing smart hospital sector, including ▲advanced digital medical devices ▲digital solutions that enhance hospital operational efficiency ▲cloud systems for stable IT medical services.


LG Electronics entered the medical monitor market in 2016 and currently offers a variety of products and solutions, including a total of 13 types of medical monitors for diagnostic, surgical, and clinical use, as well as ▲digital X-ray detectors ▲digital signage solutions ▲electric vehicle chargers ▲CLOi robots ▲Private 5G ▲and air conditioning systems.


GE Healthcare is a global company that possesses advanced digital medical equipment and digital solutions that integrate and analyze patient medical data to improve procedural accuracy and hospital operational efficiency.


Microsoft Korea provides solutions that support the digital transformation of hospitals, including ▲hybrid cloud systems ▲AI algorithm models such as Microsoft Azure OpenAI ▲and Microsoft Teams for smart communication among medical staff.


Jang Ik-hwan, Head of LG Electronics BS Business Division, said, "Through the collaboration of LG Electronics, GE Healthcare, and Microsoft Korea to build smart hospitals, we will contribute to the advancement of the domestic medical environment and provide patients with a better healthcare service experience."
