A memorial siren for the Sewol ferry disaster will sound across Ansan City on the 16th.
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 11th that to mark the 10th anniversary of the Sewol ferry disaster, a memorial alert siren will sound for one minute starting at 4:16 PM around Danwon District Office in Ansan City.
This alert siren was planned to provide a moment of remembrance for the victims in conjunction with the "10th Anniversary Memorial Ceremony of the Sewol Ferry Disaster" held at Ansan Hwarang Amusement Park on the same day.
A Gyeonggi Province official urged, "Since this alert is not a civil defense evacuation siren, we ask Ansan citizens not to be alarmed and to participate in the memorial."
