"‘Jobs Are the Best Welfare’... Seocho, Gangdong, Yangcheon Districts Hold Career Fairs for Youth and Middle-aged"

"It is not easy to find a job, so I am extremely grateful that Seoul’s autonomous districts are holding job fairs."

This is a statement from a resident of a Seoul district.

As the economic downturn continues, job fairs for youth and middle-aged job seekers are being held one after another, making the saying "a job is the best welfare" truly resonate. Seoul districts such as Yangcheon-gu, Seocho-gu, and Gangdong-gu are hosting career fairs to support youth employment.

Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Lee Gi-jae) will hold a large-scale job matching event, the "GOOD JOB Yangcheon-gu Job Fair," on the 12th at Haenuri Town’s Haenuri Hall and Art Hall, with participation from 20 companies and over 300 job seekers. The detailed program includes ▲ recruitment interviews ▲ company job talk concerts ▲ job information guidance and job counseling ▲ and side events. Especially this year, an "autonomous driving guide robot" applying 4th industrial revolution future technology will be deployed at the job fair site to visually deliver recruitment information at each booth as well as various district news to job seekers at a glance.

The target audience is about 100 youth preparing for employment, and applications can be made online on a first-come, first-served basis through a QR code or a Google form posted on the district office website by April 11. Professional career counselors will be stationed at the job counseling booths to provide one-on-one customized employment counseling and job information about about 10 local companies.

Seocho-gu (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) announced that it will hold a high-quality "Youth Career & Job Fair" tailored to job seekers’ needs on the 29th and 30th to support youth employment.

On the 29th, the theme is domestic employment, and on the 30th, overseas employment, with each day featuring ▲ on-site recruitment halls ▲ job information halls ▲ employment lectures and mentoring. On the 29th, there will be an employment lecture by Choi Seong-wook (Head of Sogang University Employment Support Team), author of "The Backbone of Employment," and 16 current employees from leading domestic companies such as Samsung Electronics, Coupang, and SK Hynix will serve as mentors. On the 30th, there will be overseas employment lectures by the Human Resources Development Service of Korea and HR managers from overseas companies, as well as group counseling by 15 company- and country-specific mentoring teams composed of current employees from global companies like Nike and Microsoft and mentors from countries including the U.S. and Europe. Seocho-gu Mayor Jeon Seong-su said, "From youth exploring career paths to those about to be employed, we have prepared this job fair richly so that they can obtain diverse information about the jobs they want. We hope many Seocho youth will participate."

Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Soo-hee) announced that on the 28th, it will hold a recruitment briefing session at the Gangdong 50 Plus Center for middle-aged and older adults preparing for re-employment at a life transition point.

This recruitment briefing will focus on "Coupang Fulfillment Service," a core logistics affiliate of Coupang Inc., the largest online shopping platform in Korea.

The recruitment fields are team captain managing logistics sites and on-site logistics staff. Attendees can receive detailed job information, working conditions, recruitment procedures, and other necessary information through the briefing session. Gangdong-gu Mayor Lee Soo-hee said, "The Gangdong 50 Plus Center will continue to play a role in supporting the middle-aged generation to successfully prepare for a new start after retirement."
