5 PM Voter Turnout at 64.1%... Up 1.5%p from 4 Years Ago

At 5 PM on the 10th, the voter turnout for the April 10 general election was recorded at 64.1%.

According to the National Election Commission, as of this time, out of a total of 44,280,011 eligible voters, 28,385,276 have cast their votes, resulting in this turnout rate.

This is 1.5 percentage points higher than the turnout rate of 62.6% at the same time during the general election four years ago.

Considering that the final turnout rate four years ago was 66.2%, it is expected that the final turnout rate for this election will likely be in the 67% range, falling short of 70%.

The region with the highest turnout was Sejong (67.5%), followed by Jeonnam (67.1%), Seoul (66.0%), and Gwangju (65.7%).

In the closely contested areas, Seoul's turnout rate exceeded the average. The lowest turnout was recorded in Jeju at 59.7%, followed by Daegu (60.8%), Incheon and Chungnam (62.4%), and Chungbuk (62.5%).

The turnout rate in Gyeonggi, which has the most electoral districts, was 63.7%, slightly below the average.
