Hanwha Precision Machinery, a manufacturing solutions specialist under Hanwha, announced on the 9th that it will participate in the 'IPC APEX EXPO 2024' exhibition held from the 9th to the 11th of this month at the Anaheim Convention Center in California, USA.
IPC APEX EXPO is the largest surface mount technology (SMT) exhibition in North America, where over 400 manufacturers worldwide showcase their equipment annually, attracting approximately 30,000 visitors, making it a major industry event.
At this exhibition, Hanwha Precision Machinery showcased the XM520 series, suitable for high-mix, high-volume production, and the HM520 series, optimized for low-mix, high-volume production lines, presenting a comprehensive lineup that flexibly meets customer requirements.
In particular, the XM520 exhibited this time is a versatile high-speed chip mounter capable of mounting 100,000 electronic components (chips) per hour. With a high-speed, high-precision control system applied, it can mount ultra-small size components and odd form components at high speed. Recognizing the product's excellence, it received the SMT Equipment High-Speed Category NPI (New Product Introduction) Award selected by Circuits Assembly magazine on March 9.
Additionally, equipment combined with the component supply device 'Side Tray Feeder' received great attention from visitors. This equipment was developed by applying the XM520's 'Single Lane' to reflect special requirements of the North American market, allowing high-speed mounting of a large volume of odd form components without additional space, maximizing productivity.
Besides SMT equipment, the integrated software solution ‘T-Solution,’ designed to maximize production line operational efficiency from optimal production planning to material management and monitoring, also attracted attention. The exhibition included videos explaining T-OLP, which enables production planning and history management; 'T-Smart,' which allows remote management of production facilities via portable devices such as smartphones and tablets; and 'T-PNP,' which predicts and notifies maintenance timing of equipment based on big data, enhancing visitors' understanding.
Kang Tae-woo, head of Hanwha Precision Machinery’s Americas branch, stated, "We will support customers in realizing the exhibition slogan (MAKE MORE with less Time, Space, Investment)." He added, "We will actively target global large EMS and cutting-edge automotive electronics companies by providing customized solutions for each production product considering the environment of the Americas market."
