According to the Jeollabuk-do Election Commission on the 9th, A photographed the ballot paper he marked inside the voting booth at an early voting station set up in Deokjin-gu, Jeonju on the 6th, and then posted the photo in an SNS group chat, thereby disclosing the ballot paper.
According to Article 166-2, Paragraph 1 of the Public Official Election Act, which prohibits photographing ballot papers, no one is allowed to photograph ballot papers inside the voting booth. Violators are subject to imprisonment for up to two years or a fine of up to 4 million won. However, voting certification photos showing thumbs up, V signs, finger hearts, etc., outside the voting booth are permitted.
The Jeollabuk-do Election Commission stated, "On election day as well, photographing or distributing ballot papers inside the voting booth is prohibited," and urged voters to "participate in the 22nd National Assembly election without fail and help create a pleasant election culture by taking voting certification photos within the allowed scope."
