The business agreement ceremony held on the 8th at Jaseng Korean Medicine Hospital in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, was attended by key officials from both organizations, including Lee Jin-ho, director of Jaseng Korean Medicine Hospital, Ha In-hyeok, director of Jaseng Spine and Joint Research Institute, Yoon Sa-jung, CEO of Predictive Care, and Kim Jin-wook, vice president. Predictive Care, founded by CEO Yoon Sa-jung, an adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University in the United States, is a preventive medicine solution development company recognized worldwide for its proprietary gene analysis technology called 'Digital Twin.'
Jaseng Korean Medicine Hospital and Predictive Care plan to engage in multifaceted mutual cooperation, including joint research and academic support, to integrate Korean medicine with Digital Twin technology. Digital Twin analyzes over 20,000 genes using only fingernails or oral epithelial cells and then virtually simulates them to provide data on the likelihood of more than 20,000 diseases as well as sensitivity to various treatments and drugs. Through this, both organizations will focus on building digital personalized solutions that maximize the effectiveness of integrated Korean medicine treatments such as acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, and herbal prescriptions. This is expected to present a new paradigm for clinical practice in Korean medicine in the future.
In fact, the convergence and fusion of digital technology and medicine have recently become the main topic of 'Medical Korea 2024,' the largest global healthcare conference held in Korea, highlighting it as the greatest interest in the medical field. Some predict that as the digitalization of the medical industry accelerates, the related market size will exceed 700 trillion won.
Lee Jin-ho, director of Jaseng Korean Medicine Hospital, said, "Various developments must occur in the Korean medicine field to keep pace with the rapidly changing medical environment," adding, "If the clinical data and research results accumulated over more than 30 years at Jaseng Korean Medicine Hospital are integrated with Predictive Care's technology, it will greatly contribute to improving the future health and quality of life of the nation."
