Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is recruiting participants for an internship program targeting unemployed middle-aged individuals aged 50 to 64.
Gwangjin-gu operates an annual internship program to provide career development and reemployment opportunities for unemployed middle-aged individuals who find it difficult to prepare for a stable retirement due to the increasing retirement age.
This year, the recruitment target is unemployed residents of Gwangjin-gu aged between 50 and 64, with a total of 30 participants to be selected. Selected participants will work as interns at local companies or social economy enterprises from June to November.
The activity allowance is based on the 2024 Gwangjin-gu living wage, set at 11,436 KRW per hour. Participants can work up to 57 hours per month, receiving a maximum monthly wage of 594,480 KRW.
Applications will be accepted from the 11th to the 23rd. Interested middle-aged individuals should prepare application forms and self-introduction letters and submit them either by visiting the Senior Welfare Division at Gwangjin-gu Office or via email.
The district plans to announce the final participants in May after document screening and on-site interviews with each company.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, stated, “We hope the internship program will help unemployed middle-aged individuals find reemployment and serve as a stepping stone for their reintegration into society,” adding, “We encourage many to show interest and participate in this internship program that allows for systematic preparation for a stable retirement.”
