Silla University Holds Launch Ceremony for Hwarang Patrol Unit with Sasang Police Station

Shilla University (President Heo Nam-sik) Department of Police Administration announced on the 9th that it held the 'Hwarang Patrol Unit Inauguration Ceremony' for cooperative security activities with Sasang Police Station.

On March 29th, at the Nuri Hall of Sasang Police Station, the Hwarang Patrol Unit composed of students from the university's Department of Police Administration and Sasang Police Station held an integrated inauguration ceremony to commemorate the launch of the university student patrol unit activities and signed a business agreement to regularize the Police Studies (警學) practicum program.

The event was attended by Cho Min-sang, head of the Department of Police Administration at Shilla University, Sasang Police Station Chief Eom Jeong-woon, as well as students and related personnel.

Starting with the inauguration ceremony, the Hwarang Patrol Unit students from Shilla University’s Department of Police Administration and Sasang Police Station will carry out security activities for one year to create a safe Sasang District, including patrolling crime-vulnerable areas in the Sasang region, analyzing risk factors, and devising countermeasures.

Hwarang Patrol Unit leader student Kwon Hee-dong said, "While holding the event to mark the new beginning of the 11th Hwarang Patrol Unit, we were able to strengthen the determination of the members through the encouragement and support from Chief Eom Jeong-woon of Sasang Police Station and Head Cho Min-sang," adding, "With a sense of responsibility as the Hwarang Patrol Unit, we will strive to create a safe Sasang District through cooperative security activities with the police officers of Sasang Police Station."

Head Cho Min-sang stated, "Cooperative security activities will be a valuable opportunity for students not only to learn theory but also to directly experience the field," and added, "I hope the students learn the vividness of the security field together with police officers and grow into future security professionals."
