Prime Minister Han Duck-soo urged on the 9th, a day before the April 10 general election, "Please do your best to ensure that voting is conducted in an orderly, fair, and transparent manner."
On the afternoon of the same day, Prime Minister Han visited the polling station at the Jongno 1, 2, 3, 4 ga-dong Administrative Welfare Center in Jongno-gu, Seoul, saying, "As seen in the previous early voting, the enthusiasm of our people for this National Assembly election is extremely strong."
He stated, "In the past, vote counting relied solely on machines, but a system has been introduced to review the counting again manually, and many public officials and police officers are being deployed for election management," emphasizing, "The Election Commission, National Police Agency, Fire Department, and Ministry of the Interior and Safety must cooperate closely so that not even a small glitch occurs."
He added, "There were about 411 incidents during the previous early voting. Among them, more than 80 cases were due to device malfunctions," and urged, "Please make every effort to prevent such incidents from happening."
Prime Minister Han mentioned that public officials involved in election management are provided with mandatory leave support, saying, "Centered on the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, all ministries should ensure that support measures for public officials working hard during the election counting process operate properly."
On the same day, after receiving a report on election management status from the Seoul Metropolitan Government and Jongno-gu, Prime Minister Han inspected the voting site. The on-site inspection was attended by Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon, Vice Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety Ko Ki-dong, and Jongno District Mayor Jeong Mun-heon.
