54 Islands, 67 Ballot Boxes Transported... Special Forces Maintain Emergency Deployment Readiness
The West Sea Regional Coast Guard Agency (Chief Kim Inchang) announced on the 9th that it plans to implement transportation and escort support for ballot boxes in island areas for the 22nd National Assembly election to be held on the 10th.
The West Sea Coast Guard Agency views the protection of maritime residents' voting rights and the enhancement of maritime security services as inseparable, and has prepared the "Island Area Ballot Box Transportation and Escort and Maritime Boundary Reinforcement Plan" to fully support smooth election operations.
Accordingly, from the morning of the 9th, the day before the election, until the completion of ballot box transportation and escort, the West Sea Coast Guard Agency will strengthen maritime boundaries and deploy 17 coast guard vessels to directly transport 5 ballot boxes on 54 islands in Jeonnam and Jeonbuk regions, and provide close escort for the remaining 62 ballot boxes being transported to the mainland.
With the reinforcement of maritime boundaries, commanders and others belonging to the West Sea Coast Guard Agency will remain on standby at the command and control ship, while vessels, aircraft, special forces, and rescue teams will maintain an emergency dispatch posture.
