Incheon Namdong-gu to Raise Monthly Honor Allowance for Veterans to 80,000 Won

Namdong-gu, Incheon is pushing to increase the honorarium for veterans to strengthen the respect and support for those who served in the war.

The district announced on the 9th that it has submitted the "Partial Amendment to the Ordinance on the Respect and Support for National Veterans and Others in Namdong-gu" to the 293rd extraordinary session of the Namdong-gu Council, which opens on the 16th.

The amended ordinance includes raising the district's monthly support fund for the veterans' honorarium from 50,000 KRW to 80,000 KRW. Accordingly, veterans will receive a total monthly allowance of 180,000 KRW, combining the 100,000 KRW subsidy from Incheon City.

The ordinance amendment was promoted to enhance respect for veterans and to eliminate the allowance gap between the city and districts in Incheon, following the guidelines of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs for local government veterans' allowances. Previously, the district announced the amendment for legislative notice and the ordinance and regulation review committee approved the original proposal.

Park Jong-hyo, Mayor of Namdong-gu, stated, "We will continue to honor the noble spirit of national veterans and strengthen veterans' policies to ensure they receive proper treatment."
