YouTuber Diagnosed with 8 Weeks Recovery After Hit-and-Run Accident
"What the XX Are You Doing" Verbal Abuse Included
A report was received that a man attempting to engage in prostitution with a minor hit a YouTuber who was trying to film him with a vehicle and fled, prompting the police to launch an investigation.
On the 9th, the Gimpo Police Station in Gyeonggi Province announced that on the 5th, a man in his 40s, YouTuber A, made a 112 emergency call reporting that "a man who came out to engage in prostitution with a minor committed a hit-and-run with a vehicle." It is known that A received a diagnosis requiring eight weeks of treatment due to the hit-and-run accident. A is a kind of social activist YouTuber who lures men attempting prostitution by pretending to be a woman on chat applications and other platforms and films them.
It was reported that on the day of the report, around 8:50 p.m., A met the man he had lured in Guradong, Gimpo City, using the bait of prostitution with a minor. He claimed, "At that time, the man was in the vehicle, so when I put my phone inside the car, he tried to flee," and "I grabbed the steering wheel to prevent him from leaving, but he started the car anyway and hit me with the wheel." The police have identified the fleeing vehicle's license plate and secured nearby CCTV footage capturing the incident.

According to the footage released by JTBC's 'Incident Commander,' A can be seen hanging onto the driver's side window of a white vehicle as it speeds away, then falling off. The man was heard cursing at A, saying, "What the hell are you doing!" while accelerating the vehicle. Unable to hold on any longer, A eventually fell off the car.
The police plan to first verify the facts with A, who is currently hospitalized, and then identify the fleeing man to investigate the specific circumstances. A police official stated, "We have confirmed the vehicle's license plate, but there is a possibility that the owner and the person who fled are not the same, so further investigation is necessary," adding, "After the investigation, we will consider whether to apply charges such as aggravated assault."
