Provincial Happiness University Yeongdeok Campus Supports 'Second Act of Life' Through Lifelong Education

Education Services and Social Participation Opportunities for Joint Growth of Residents and the Community

Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, held the first lecture of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Happiness University Yeongdeok Campus on the 8th, titled "Positive Mindset through Music Play," to provide high-quality lifelong education to local residents.

Provincial Happiness University Yeongdeok Campus Supports 'Second Act of Life' Through Lifelong Education Kim Kwang-yeol, Yeongdeok County Governor (5th from the left at the very front), is celebrating the entrance ceremony with the students of the Yeongdeok County Campus of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Happiness University, which started classes on the 1st.

Earlier, on the 1st, Yeongdeok-gun held the opening ceremony of the "2024 Gyeongbuk Provincial Happiness University Yeongdeok Campus" in a lecture room on the first floor of the Yeongdeok Culture and Sports Center Women's Hall, attended by about 60 students and officials.


Now in its fourth year, the Honorary Bachelor's program of the Provincial Happiness University is a learning community open to everyone, aiming to lay the foundation for civic education and support the establishment of proper values and intellectual growth among local residents, thereby enhancing quality of life through lifelong education.


At the opening ceremony, County Governor Kim Gwang-yeol said, "Lifelong learning in the era of 100 years is the foundation of a vibrant life and opens the door to the joy and happiness of a second act in life through new learning," adding, "I am proud of all of you who have stepped forward as a place of learning to create a region that grows together with the residents."


This year, the Gyeongbuk Provincial Happiness University Yeongdeok Campus is operated on consignment by Daegu Haany University Lifelong Education Center, with about 50 students starting the first lecture and attending courses in seven major areas including humanities and Gyeongbuk studies for 30 weeks until the end of the year, while also engaging in social participation activities.
