The training was attended by over 120 personnel including fire suppression and rescue teams, focusing on mastering specialized suppression equipment such as ▲ deployment of special vehicles like chemical trucks and unmanned water cannon trucks for high-altitude water spraying ▲ life rescue training using ladder truck baskets ▲ breaking fire doors for internal access ▲ deployment of fire hoses for extinguishing fires on high floors within buildings.
In particular, the training concentrated on the use of special equipment such as cella nozzles, self-supporting water guns, and water wall hoses to effectively carry out life evacuation and suppression tactics according to building size, structure, and various fire scenarios.
Within the jurisdiction of Jeju Fire Station, there are a total of 261 high-rise buildings with 11 floors or more. In the event of a fire, internal fire suppression is conducted using building fire facilities such as indoor fire hydrants and connection pipes, while simultaneously, life rescue and various suppression operations are carried out outside the building using fire trucks and special equipment.
Chief Yang Young-seok stated, “Since the structure and form vary depending on the building, it is important to consider evacuation guidance methods and suppression tactics suitable for the specific situation.” He added, “We plan to continuously promote customized training and strengthen fire education for related personnel, including the use of evacuation and fire prevention facilities.”
