Genians Acquires FutureTech Information & Communications... Launches 'Zero Trust Strategy 2.0'

Cybersecurity specialist Genieons announced on the 9th that it has acquired FutureTech Information & Communication and will implement the ‘Zero Trust 2.0 Strategy,’ opening a new horizon for zero trust security architecture.

Zero Trust is the concept of 'always verify, never trust.' It is not simply a product but can be described as a framework, model, or initiative. Ultimately, it aims to focus on solving customer problems.

Genieons launched the zero trust solution 'Genian ZTNA (Zero Trust Network Access)' in 2022. Last year, it participated in a zero trust demonstration project led by the Ministry of Science and ICT, secured the first domestic and global zero trust customers, and is expanding its presence in the related market.

The customers’ needs for completing zero trust are clear. While protecting the security environment that the company has been operating, they aim to improve operational efficiency and further realize strong security. Although the frameworks customers want to implement may vary, it is crucial to adapt to the domestic environment and integrate and interoperate with existing solutions.

To meet these customer needs, Genieons announced the ‘Zero Trust 2.0 Strategy.’ The core of this strategy is △ integration and unification with representative security solutions in operation △ creating stronger security synergy △ protecting various operational environments based on comprehensive visibility and authentication.

To successfully implement zero trust, the company acquired 100% of FutureTech Information & Communication’s shares on the 8th. FutureTech Information & Communication is a specialized company focused on SSL VPN. SSL VPN technology serves as a foundational technology for remote access and can be integrated or evolved with SDP (Software Defined Perimeter), ZTNA (Zero Trust Network Access), etc., to implement a zero trust environment.

Genieons plans to leverage FutureTech Information & Communication’s strengths to enter related markets such as VPN and further promote technology and product development in the fields of Private Access and Internet Access to complete its own ZTNA solution.

The company already has experience completing EDR 2.0 through the past acquisition of RedStoneSoft. It expressed confidence that this successful DNA can be expanded into the zero trust field.

To usher in the successful Zero Trust 2.0 era, Genieons plans to showcase advanced security features in remote access and connection at ‘RSAC 2024,’ the world’s largest security exhibition, this year. Additionally, it will actively respond to the second zero trust demonstration project and the MLS (Multi-Level Security) projects planned by the government to strengthen its position in the zero trust market.

Lee Dong-beom, CEO of Genieons, stated, “The core of the zero trust strategy, which focuses on solving customer problems, is to create customer success cases and continuously improve and complement them to complete the strategy. By continuously providing appropriate solutions that customers need, we will firmly establish our superiority in the zero trust market.”
