100% Installation Cost Support, Simultaneous Applications for New and Replacement Projects
Eunpyeong-gu (District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced that it is accepting applications for the 'Food Waste RFID Pay-by-Weight Device Installation Support' for multi-family housing units in the area until May 31.
The eligible applicants are approximately 70 multi-family housing complexes with 20 or more households located in Eunpyeong-gu. The number of devices to be installed is 50, and applicants can receive full support for the installation costs of the pay-by-weight devices as well as maintenance fees during the free maintenance period.
Multi-family housing complexes wishing to install the pay-by-weight devices should submit an application form along with the residents' representative meeting materials to the Eunpyeong-gu Office.
Submission methods include in-person visits, mail, or fax. However, in the case of replacing old devices, additional proof of device aging is required.
After receiving applications, Eunpyeong-gu will conduct an internal review to select eligible multi-family housing complexes, notify them individually, and then install the food waste RFID pay-by-weight devices. For more details, please contact the Resource Circulation Division of Eunpyeong-gu Office.
According to a survey conducted last year among supported multi-family housing complexes, 97% gave positive feedback on convenience, 95% on residential environment improvement, and 92% on maintenance satisfaction. Additionally, the amount of food waste generated per household in the area was reduced by 4.9% over the past year alone.
Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, stated, “Since starting the food waste RFID project in 2015, we have supported a total of 495 devices for 29,515 households across 98 multi-family housing complexes. The accurate charging of collection fees based on household waste output has led to a tangible reduction effect.” She added, “This project not only reduces food waste but also greatly contributes to improving the aesthetics of multi-family housing and the satisfaction of residential living environments. We ask for the active interest of residents living in multi-family housing.”
