"Grow Fruits with App and Pick Up Products In-Store"…Emart Launches First Cyber Farming Experience

'Emart Farm' Service Launching in May
Beta Testers Recruitment Until the 14th
"Will Attract Customers Offline"

Emart announced on the 9th that it will launch a mobile farm concept game-type app-tech (application + asset management) service called ‘Emart Farm’ next month.

Emart Farm is a service where users complete various missions on the Emart app to grow and harvest fruits with the rewards earned, and then exchange them for actual products. Selected products can be picked up at Emart stores, and the products available for exchange change every month.

The missions in Emart Farm include attendance, viewing flyers, and writing reviews. In addition to individual missions, users can earn extra rewards by connecting with neighboring farms or through special missions such as Emart shopping missions that offer even more rewards.

Emart expects to provide customers with a differentiated shopping experience linking online and offline through Emart Farm. The recent popularity of ‘cyber farming,’ where users cultivate crops in commerce apps and receive real produce, raises expectations. Emart plans to design the service so that customers can receive a variety of rewards frequently, thereby increasing customer traffic to offline stores.

Prior to the official launch, Emart is recruiting beta testers to experience Emart Farm in advance. The trial period is from the 9th to the 14th. After the beta test, Emart Farm will be launched for all customers in May.

All beta testers will receive basic benefits such as reward products from harvesting Emart Farm fruits, No Brand potato chip gifticons, and 500 e-money points. Ten outstanding testers will be awarded a 50,000 KRW Ematicon (Emart mobile gift certificate).

Ryu Yena, Team Leader of Emart Mobile Service Planning Team, said, “As the number of Emart app users increases, we planned this service to provide customers with necessary information and benefits in a more fun and familiar way,” adding, “We will continue to introduce various Emart app services tailored to customer needs.”
