Local Companies Receive Up to 50 Million Won in Support

Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 8th that three local companies were selected for the 'Youth Startup Support Project Linked to Local Resources' conducted by the Jeonnam Center for Creative Economy & Innovation.

The Youth Startup Support Project Linked to Local Resources is a program that supports the influx and settlement of young people in the region by providing activity surveys on local resources, customized consulting, and commercialization funding to youth from other cities and provinces.

The support project provides up to 1.8 million KRW for local resource survey activities, up to 20 million KRW for the first commercialization phase, and up to 50 million KRW for the second advanced support phase.

At the '3rd Advanced Support Qualitative Evaluation' held in February at the Jeonnam Center for Creative Economy & Innovation, six young local entrepreneurs participated and presented creative business ideas in various fields such as processing and selling local specialty products and offering experience programs utilizing local culture and tourism resources.

In this evaluation, the execution results and performance of the second commercialization support fund of the 'Youth Startup Support Project Linked to Local Resources' were reviewed along with the status of the business sites. The selection results for the third advanced support were finalized based on criteria such as feasibility of business execution.

The three selected companies in the region through the support project are: 'Chocorani' by Kim Jaecheon, producing and selling chocolate using taro, a specialty product of Gokseong-gun; 'Dude Brewery' by Shin Changyeop, a local specialty liquor made using rice from Jeollanam-do; and 'Meticulous Youngho' by Choi Youngho, building conscientious houses for returnees to farming and rural areas.

A county official stated, "We plan to continue providing necessary support such as funding, mentoring, and capacity-building programs so that young entrepreneurs can commercialize new ideas using local resources," adding, "We expect this support to play an important role in helping young entrepreneurs contribute to the local economy."
