Mr. A is suspected of driving his black SM3 electric car while spray-painting the license plate with black spray paint and writing words such as "detention," "kidnapping," "Eastern Police Station," and "schizophrenic patient" in yellow spray paint on the vehicle.
He started from Ara-dong, Jeju City, drove around the city for about 40 minutes, and arrived at the Jeju Eastern Police Station. When the police requested him to get out of the car, he refused and resisted for more than 10 minutes before being arrested on the spot by police who broke the car window. During the police investigation, Mr. A stated that he committed the act out of anger because his wife was arrested on charges of obstruction of official duties.

Mr. A’s wife, Ms. B, in her 30s, was booked on the 6th on charges of causing a disturbance on another person’s parked vehicle in Jeju city and kicking and assaulting responding police officers. At that time, Mr. A reportedly threatened the police by chasing the patrol car his wife was in and appearing as if he would ram it with his own car. Additionally, it has been reported that Mr. A has been investigated by the police over 60 times this year alone for false reports.
The police plan to apply for an arrest warrant for Mr. A.
