The Government Focuses on Seodaegu, 'Hillstate Seodaegu Station Central' Attracts High Demand

Recently, as the government promised to support a 'revolutionary change' in Daegu, including the development of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk New Airport, the Seodaegu area, the biggest beneficiary, is attracting attention.

President Yoon Suk-yeol stated at a public discussion held in Daegu last month, "We will provide bold support to enable revolutionary change in Daegu," naming the new airport construction project as a key initiative for this purpose. While accelerating the construction of the new airport aimed to open by 2030, he also announced plans to expand the connected transportation network by building a new airport metropolitan express railway linking Seodaegu, the new airport, and Uiseong in Gyeongbuk, and deploying GTX-class trains.

The Daegu-Gyeongbuk New Airport metropolitan express railway is a project connecting Seodaegu, Gyeongbuk Uiseong, and the new airport as the central hub. When the GTX train, running at speeds of 180 km/h, operates, the travel time between Daegu and the new airport, which currently takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes by rail, will be reduced to under 30 minutes, opening a new era for Daegu's transportation.

In particular, the Seodaegu area is seeing a series of major transportation benefits beyond the new airport railway. First, the Daegu metropolitan area railway, connecting Gumi through Seodaegu to Gyeongsan, is scheduled to open by the end of this year. Additionally, the Dalbit Inland Railway, linking Seodaegu to Gwangju Songjeong, is under development with a target opening in 2030. Once the Dalbit Inland Railway opens, the travel time between Daegu and Gwangju, currently about 2 hours and 30 minutes, is expected to be significantly reduced to around 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Once these projects are completed, the Seodaegu area is expected to rise significantly as Daegu's new transportation hub. Since 2022, KTX has stopped at Seodaegu Station, greatly enhancing convenience for travel to the Seoul metropolitan area and the Gyeongnam region. Industry experts predict that with the new airport, new airport railway, and Dalbit Inland Railway, Seodaegu will grow as a transportation gateway not only for Daegu but for the Yeongnam region.

An industry expert said, "With major transportation benefits from the airport to metropolitan railways centered around the Seodaegu area, this area is naturally emerging as Daegu's new center. Numerous ongoing redevelopment projects will greatly improve the residential environment, and the residential core of Daegu, which has been concentrated in Dongdaegu, will rapidly shift to the Seodaegu area."

In fact, many redevelopment projects such as the Manpyeong-dong residential complex development are underway in the Seodaegu area, and projects like Pyeongni New Town and Naedang District are also progressing, with an expected population influx of over 15,000 households. Although the nationwide real estate market is currently experiencing a temporary slowdown, many experts predict that when the real estate cycle recovers, this area will show the steepest upward curve.

As the Seodaegu area gains recognition for its high future value based on major benefits, Hillsstate Seodaegu Station Central, located in the Bisan-dong area of Seo-gu, is attracting attention. It is a complex near KTX Seodaegu Station and directly benefits from Seodaegu, which is emerging as the transportation center of the Daegu metropolitan area.

Additionally, Daegu Subway Line 3's Paldal Market Station is within walking distance, and access to various parts of Daegu city is convenient via Paldal-daero and Sincheon-daero. Furthermore, with plans for the relocation of Daegu City Hall, modernization of industrial complexes, and expansion of transportation networks around Seodaegu Station, infrastructure for administration, business, and transportation is expected to improve further.
