Police Identify 21 Posters of 'Medistaff'
The author who posted problematic articles on the doctors' community 'Medistaff' has been largely identified by the police. Those who leaked the 'Resident Guidelines' and the list of public health doctors (Gongbo-ui) have also been booked by the police, and investigations are underway. Regarding the former and current executives of the Korean Medical Association (KMA) who were booked on charges of instigating the collective resignation of residents, it is known that final legal reviews are being conducted.
On the 8th, Jo Ji-ho, Commissioner of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, stated at a press briefing regarding the investigation of KMA executives, "We are at the stage of analyzing and verifying various statements made so far," adding, "We are conducting analysis and legal review under the current circumstances and conditions."
On February 27, the Ministry of Health and Welfare filed a complaint with the police against five KMA executives for violations of the Medical Service Act, obstruction of business, instigation, and aiding and abetting. The police summoned and investigated these individuals from once up to five times each and additionally booked one more person.
Investigations are ongoing into two military doctors who drafted the resident collective action guidelines and distributed them on social networking services (SNS). Commissioner Jo said, "One was investigated last week, and the other is scheduled for investigation this week." The police plan to confirm the circumstances of the guideline's creation, distribution routes, and whether there are additional related individuals.
Regarding the leak of the public health doctors' list on an online community, one doctor and one medical school student on leave were identified and investigated by the police. It was reported that they stated during the investigation that they did not create and upload the list themselves but received it from elsewhere. Commissioner Jo said, "It is necessary to verify how the list was obtained and why it was posted."
Furthermore, the police have identified 21 authors of problematic posts on the doctors' community 'Medistaff.' In addition, concerning the evidence concealment charges against Medistaff employees, two employees have been booked, and the police are accelerating the investigation by conducting searches, securing mobile phones, and performing forensic analysis.
