Gongju City in Chungnam announced that it will provide a "1,000 Won Breakfast" for local university students' health.

Gongju City is investing 16 million won to promote the "1,000 Won Breakfast" project for students of Gongju National University of Education and Gongju National University.

This project is hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and organized by the Korea Agency of Education, Promotion and Information Service in Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries to help university students have regular breakfasts.

The government, Gongju City, and universities each support 1,000 won out of the 4,000 won meal cost. Students only need to pay 1,000 won at the campus cafeteria.

The city and universities plan to increase user satisfaction through surveys and feedback from students.

Mayor Choi Won-cheol said, "I hope students, who often skip breakfast, can have a hearty meal without financial burden," adding, "We will do our best to support youth policies so that they can wisely overcome this challenging time of studies and job searching."
