LG Uplus is applying its self-developed AI technology 'ixi' to various services such as mobile and IPTV.
On the 8th, LG Uplus announced the launch of four types of chat agent services: ▲ U+ Consultation Agent ▲ Disability Consultation Agent ▲ Exclusive AI Product Recommendation Agent ▲ U+ Biz Market Solution Guidance Agent.
In the second half of this year, chat agents for Nugget plans and SOHO plans for small business customers will also be launched.
AI-based chat agents are an advanced technology beyond simple bots that automatically perform predefined tasks. They can understand and judge new questions or commands on their own, enabling work at a level similar to humans.
Unlike chatbots that could only converse within fixed patterns, AI technology based on large language models (LLM) can understand professional questions and commands not included in scenarios.
For example, if asked "Tell me about roaming plans," it can respond based on information such as the country to be visited, duration, and past usage: "For a 4-day trip to Japan, I recommend Plan A. The most popular plan is Plan B, but since you mainly have business trips, Plan A with ample data would be better for you."
Also, if a customer asks, "I am moving on the 3rd of next month and want to transfer my internet," the conversation can continue like, "If you tell me the desired date, I will apply for the internet line removal and new installation on your behalf. If you want to change your subscription plan, I can recommend an appropriate plan for you."
LG Uplus plans to pioneer the AI assistant era by continuously developing services that can innovate all areas of work, starting with chat agents, including mobile, AI Customer Center (AICC), IPTV, and employee work support.
Sung Junhyun, Head of AI & Data Product at LG Uplus (Senior Vice President), said, "One of the strengths of the newly launched chat agent platform is platform compatibility," adding, "By easily applying chat agents to AI agent platforms to be launched in the future, such as AICC and mobile agents, we expect to create new customer experiences."
