Samsung Electronics announced on the 8th that it has been selected as the supplier for the government's 'Energy Efficiency Improvement Project for Low-Income Households' cooling support equipment for three consecutive years.

The 'Energy Efficiency Improvement Project for Low-Income Households' is a welfare program led by the Korea Energy Foundation under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. It supports the replacement of high-efficiency cooling and heating devices to improve the energy usage environment for energy-vulnerable groups who are susceptible to heatwaves and other conditions.

Starting in April, Samsung Electronics plans to supply high-efficiency 'AI Wind-Free Wall-Mounted' air conditioners to about 18,000 households selected by approximately 229 basic local governments nationwide.

The 'AI Wind-Free Wall-Mounted' air conditioner can reduce power consumption by up to 77% compared to cooling mode when using Wind-Free mode. It efficiently maintains cool air by lowering the temperature with powerful rapid cooling and then sustaining it with Wind-Free cooling, which uses relatively less power. Utilizing the AI energy-saving mode can further reduce energy consumption, easing the burden of electricity bills.

Oh Chi-oh, Vice President of Samsung Electronics Korea, said, "We have established an infrastructure that allows timely production and installation of the high-efficiency 'AI Wind-Free Wall-Mounted' air conditioners," adding, "We sincerely hope that Samsung Electronics air conditioners will help energy-vulnerable groups have a healthy summer."
