Seongbuk-gu 'Wolgok Dalbit Supporters' Recruitment

Seongbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) is promoting the 'Wolgok (月谷) Moonlight Project' as part of the 'Living Emotional City, Citizen Living Space Creation Contest' in collaboration with Seoul City to create emotional and vibrant citizen living spaces.

The Wolgok (月谷) Moonlight Project aims to create spaces that are emotionally alive, support leisure activities, are located within pedestrian daily life zones, and can be used continuously.

The project focuses on improving the environment of three resting areas along the section from Sunggok Elementary School to Dongsin Apartment in Hawolgok-dong (▲rest area next to the bus stop at the entrance of Sunggok Elementary School ▲Dongsan Children's Park ▲rest area next to the BT-IT Convergence Center) to accommodate various resident activities and make these places safer at night.

Additionally, to gather diverse opinions from residents, the 'Wolgok Moonlight Supporters' are being recruited on a first-come, first-served basis starting April 1.

Residents of Wolgok 1-dong who frequently use the project sites or are interested in the resting areas and parks can apply to the Seongbuk-gu Office Architecture Division. The 'Wolgok Moonlight Supporters' will participate in two workshops on April 30 and May 2 at the Wolgok 1-dong Community Center to share opinions on improving the environment of the Hawolgok-dong project sites and to collaboratively consider post-management, further specifying the project.

Mayor Lee Seung-ro stated, “Since the Wolgok Moonlight Project is a resident-participatory public design project, we will do our best to listen to and reflect diverse resident opinions to rebirth the space into one that many residents can use with satisfaction.”

The Wolgok (月谷) Moonlight Project is scheduled for completion in the second half of this year.
