"How can you bring eggs for a living and throw them?"
"If you protect your own interests at the expense of patients, divine punishment awaits"
Fortune teller Cheon Gong (Lee Cheon Gong) rejected the public meeting proposed by resident physician Ryu Ok from Sajik, saying, "If it was to embarrass me, it is rude." On the morning of the 7th, in a video posted on the Jeongbeop Sidae YouTube channel, Cheon Gong addressed Ryu Ok's proposal for a public meeting on the 8th, stating, "What would happen if someone brought a raw egg and threw it at me to embarrass me?"
He expressed concerns about potential physical threats during the meeting, saying, "To say a public place and tell me to come there means calling everyone who wants to attack me." He also suggested, "If (the resident physician) asks questions publicly, I will answer publicly. Otherwise, have the broadcasting station call me for a one-on-one broadcast."
"Proposal to increase medical school admissions by 600 is not a message to the government"
Since the 3rd, Cheon Gong has been posting videos on his YouTube channel stating that he has nothing to do with the policy to increase medical school admissions. During this process, controversy grew as Cheon Gong mentioned the '3 to 7 rule.' Regarding the adjustment of the increase scale, he said, "Reach an agreement around 600, which is about 30% of the existing 2,000," but some opposition supporters spread a conspiracy theory that "Cheon Gong issued a guideline for adjusting the quota."
Ryu Ok's proposal for a public meeting was made during this process. On the 5th, he proposed on Facebook to Cheon Gong, "Let's have a one-on-one public meeting at 10 a.m. on the 8th in the Gwanghwamun conference room." Ryu Ok stated, "I understand you have posted several videos about the current situation. I would like to ask for your valuable opinion to resolve the situation and have a conversation."
In the video on the same day, Cheon Gong rejected Ryu Ok's meeting proposal and insisted that the '3 to 7 rule' was not a message delivered to the government. He said, "I did not deliver it to the president. The person who asked me is a doctor. He runs a hospital directly. He asked me to find an alternative, so I mentioned the 3 to 7 rule." He continued, "At first, reduce it to 70%, and if that doesn't work, reduce it to 30%. The rule is that 30% will definitely solve it. Once stability is achieved, you go back to negotiate again, and then you fight for another 30%, and 100% will be achieved soon."
"Doctors protecting their own interests by holding patients hostage... You are not qualified"
Cheon Gong also raised his voice against the collective actions of doctors regarding the government's plan to increase medical school admissions by 2,000. He said firmly, "I say this decisively: doctors, you are doing something ignorant right now. How can doctors abandon patients and fight? Are you really doctors? That is unforgivable. Whether resident physicians or the medical association, you are not qualified."
He emphasized, "What is the current state of doctors? They are not intellectuals but technicians. This is the ignorance of technicians showing. If they were intellectuals, they would not fight. An intellectual moves the nation and touches the people with a single line of writing. Write a letter. The public will judge."
Furthermore, he said, "Holding patients hostage to protect your own interests? Well done, you guys. This is a big problem. A heavenly punishment will come down. Can't you see doctors around you dying from illness? Because you are not doing your work, you are being punished to realize this. Doctors should be respected by the public and more than that. Think properly from now on."
