Service Expansion Notable with Last Month's Gimpo Gold Line Application
Service Improvements Including Credit/Debit Card Payments and Cultural Facility Discounts

The Climate Companion Card, Seoul City's unlimited public transportation pass, has surpassed 1 million cumulative sales. Priced at around 60,000 KRW per month, this unlimited public transportation pass is increasingly available for use in areas including Incheon City, Gimpo City in Gyeonggi Province, Gunpo City, Gwacheon City, Goyang City, and Hanam City.

On the 7th, Seoul City announced that the Climate Companion Card, which launched on January 27, exceeded 1 million cumulative sales on April 5, just 70 days after its implementation. As of April 5, the cumulative sales totaled approximately 1,008,000 cards, with ▲490,000 mobile cards and ▲515,000 physical cards sold respectively. This figure includes all cards recharged after the 30-day usage expiration, representing a cumulative total.

The number of daily users utilizing subways and buses is also steadily increasing. As of April 2, the daily users surpassed the initial target of 500,000 for the Climate Companion Card. Around 70,000 people used public transportation with the Climate Companion Card on January 27, the service launch date, and by April 2, the number of users reached 500,000 for the first time.

Seoul City analyzes that service expansions such as the youth discount introduced on February 26 and the application of the Gimpo Gold Line on March 30 have provided tailored benefits to various users, positively influencing new users to choose the Climate Companion Card.

After the youth discount benefit (7,000 KRW) was introduced for those aged 19 to 34 on February 26, usage in this age group increased. Before the youth discount was offered, on February 21, about 130,000 users were from the youth demographic, but four weeks after the announcement of the youth benefit, on March 27, this number nearly doubled to 250,000. The Gimpo Gold Line, which became available for use with the Climate Companion Card starting March 30, saw users increase from 430 on the first day to 2,028 on April 4.

Seoul City plans to continue improving the system to enhance convenience for citizens using the Climate Companion Card. By the end of April, the charging methods for the Climate Companion Card will be expanded to include credit and debit cards. During the first half of the year, various services are being prepared, such as offering discounts for admission to cultural and park facilities like Seoul Grand Park, and launching short-term passes for tourists as part of the main project. Yoon Jong-jang, Director of Seoul City's Urban Transportation Office, stated, "We will make every effort to improve services so that citizens can use the Climate Companion Card more conveniently by preparing various additional benefits that citizens want."
