Gomyo was born in Tokyo and studied music in Montreal and New York. She studied under Dorothy DeLay at the Juilliard School and also attended Indiana State University School of Music and New England Conservatory. She participated as a violinist, host, and narrator in the documentary "The Mysteries of the Supreme Violin" about the Stradivarius, produced by Japan's NHK Broadcasting and aired worldwide.

In the first part, Gomyo will perform Shostakovich's Violin Concerto No. 1 as a soloist. Shostakovich's Violin Concerto reflects the oppression experienced under Stalin's regime and the yearning for freedom. The violin's grand and brilliant cadenza in the latter part is especially famous.

In the second part, Anton?n Dvo??k's Symphony No. 8, which has a distinct folk character, will be performed. This work vividly and cheerfully expresses the simple and pastoral atmosphere of the Bohemia region in the Czech Republic and is also known as "Dvo??k's Pastoral Symphony."

Tickets for the KBS Symphony Orchestra's 801st regular concert can be purchased through Interpark and Lotte Concert Hall.
