"1 in 5 Voted"… 4·10 General Election Early Voting Rate Surpasses 20% at 11 AM

The cumulative early voting rate for the April 10 general election to elect the 22nd National Assembly members has surpassed 20%. This means that one out of every five eligible voters has already cast their vote.

The National Election Commission announced that as of 11 a.m. on the second day of early voting for the 22nd general election, the turnout rate was recorded at 20.51%.


Out of a total of 44,280,011 eligible voters, 9,079,657 had voted since early voting began at 6 a.m. the previous day.


This is 4.05 percentage points (p) higher than the early voting rate at the same time during the 2020 21st general election, which was 16.46%.


The region with the highest turnout so far is Jeonnam (29.91%), followed by Jeonbuk (27.23%), Gwangju (25.53%), and Sejong (22.81%).

The lowest turnout was recorded in Daegu at 16.26%, followed by Gyeonggi (18.83%), Jeju (19.14%), and Busan (19.27%). Seoul recorded 20.74%, and Incheon 19.36%.


Early voting will continue until 6 p.m. today.


To participate in early voting, voters must bring an ID and visit an early voting station.


A total of 3,565 early voting stations have been set up nationwide. The locations of the voting stations can be checked on the National Election Commission’s website or by calling the main phone number.
