Ongoing Climate Crisis Response Efforts for Future Generations...300 Trees Scheduled for Planting on the 11th
On the occasion of the 79th Arbor Day, Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin District, and staff held a tree planting event to respond to the climate crisis.
On the day of Arbor Day, the 5th, about 90 employees visited Gwangjin Supnaru. They planted 50 apple and persimmon trees to contribute to overcoming global warming. Wishing for abundant good things like the trees bearing plentiful fruit, they carefully pressed the soil and straightened the saplings.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin District, said, “We prepared this tree planting event to reflect on the meaning of Arbor Day in order to pass on a clean environment to future generations,” and added, “We will take the lead in carbon neutrality policies and practicing eco-friendly living to overcome the climate crisis together.”
On the upcoming 11th, a tree planting event will be held under the auspices of the Gwangjin Saemaeul Association. Thirty Saemaeul members plan to plant 300 Korean pine trees around the Gwangjin Supnaru area.
In addition, the district is making various efforts to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, such as reducing the use of disposable products and paper.
