For Kindergartens and Schools Installing Meal Service Facilities

Busan Haeundae Office of Education (Superintendent Won Mi-kyung) announced on the 5th that it will conduct the "First Half of the Year Kindergarten and School Meal Hygiene and Safety Inspection" until July to prevent food poisoning accidents in school meals.

This inspection targets all 82 kindergartens with meal facilities installed and 123 schools at all levels.

The Haeundae Office of Education will focus on checking contamination of cooking utensils by food poisoning bacteria, storage of expired products, storage of preserved food, health checkups of cooking staff, and hygiene management status of cooking facilities.

According to the inspection results, minor violations will be corrected through on-site guidance, and administrative actions will be requested for non-compliance under the Food Sanitation Act.

Won Mi-kyung, Superintendent of Haeundae Office of Education, said, "As the weather warms up, the risk of food poisoning is increasing," adding, "We will do our best to raise awareness of hygiene management through continuous inspections of meal sites and provide safe meals to growing children."
