Record High Project Budget of 117.8 Billion Won Invested
Seoul Eunpyeong-gu (District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced on the 5th the "2024 Detailed Plan for Job Policies," aiming to create 12,703 local jobs and achieve an employment rate of 67.5% this year. The budget for job projects this year will also be the largest ever, with 117.8 billion KRW allocated.
Eunpyeong-gu has raised the employment rate target in the "8th Term Comprehensive Job Plan" from the original 65.1% to 67.5%, focusing on creating high-quality jobs that residents can feel directly.
This year, the district will pursue the vision of "Eunpyeong-type Valuable Jobs Preparing for a Worthwhile Tomorrow," discovering and promoting valuable Eunpyeong-type jobs.
The five key strategies are ▲ continuous expansion of Eunpyeong-type social service jobs that create a virtuous cycle of welfare, employment, and growth ▲ discovery of customized jobs reflecting local and demographic demands ▲ strengthening job competencies to respond to labor market changes and linking to self-reliant job support ▲ supporting the competitiveness of local commercial districts to create self-sustaining employment ▲ fostering new industry cultural content jobs by developing Eunpyeong as a cultural tourism city.
Last year, the district focused on job creation and exceeded its initial target by 115%, creating 14,434 jobs. Due to these efforts, it received an excellence award in the job evaluation hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, stated, "This year as well, all departments will devote their full efforts to creating high-quality jobs suited to local conditions and promoting policies to revitalize local commercial districts to achieve the job targets."
