On the 4th, the People Power Party stated that the National Credit Union Federation revealed the "true face of deception" by Yang Moon-seok, the Democratic Party candidate for Gyeonggi Ansan Gap, who misled the public by disguising illegal loans as irregular loans regarding real estate suspicions, and declared, "The only answer is for candidate Yang, who deceived the public, to resign."
The Public Relations Team of the People Power Party's Central Election Committee said, "Candidate Yang said he would dispose of the apartment purchased with illegal loans, and if losses occur, he would bear them, and if profits occur, he would donate them," adding, "In a situation where confiscating criminal proceeds is not enough, we cannot help but laugh at the morality of calmly talking about profits and losses as if disposing of his assets."
Kim Si-gwan, spokesperson for the People’s Future, commented, "Paying off debt by selling the apartment is basic," but "responsibility for the illegal act remains separately. He must take responsibility for the illegal act through candidate resignation and apologize to the public."
The National Credit Union Federation conducted an on-site inspection from the 1st regarding loans to candidate Yang’s daughter as a sole proprietor and found "illegal and improper acts such as misuse of loans beyond the intended purpose, submission of false evidence, and inadequate credit screening," and reported candidate Yang’s daughter and the loan recruiter to investigative authorities.
