The Democratic Party of Korea criticized on the 4th the claim made by Han Dong-hoon, the Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, during the Gangwon-do Chuncheon 4.10 general election campaign, that party leader Lee Jae-myung is from Ilbe (the online community Ilgan Best Storage), calling it "the worst kind of politics framed by Ilbe."

Shin Hyun-young, spokesperson for the Democratic Party's Central Election Countermeasures Committee, said at a National Assembly briefing that day, "What on earth is the basis for Chairman Han's claim that Leader Lee is 'Ilbe'?" Leader Lee once said in a 2017 lecture at Chonnam National University, "I am from Ilbe," explaining, "I define people who ruin their lives with wrong information as 'Ilbe,' and I was once like that."

Spokesperson Shin pointed out, "Does Chairman Han have such poor comprehension that he believes Leader Lee is from Ilbe based on a statement reflecting on mistaken perceptions from his childhood?" and added, "No matter how urgent it is, the ruling party leader should not spread false information."

Shin also stated, "It is the People Power Party that nominated Ilbe members who praise pro-Japanese and dictatorship views in their candidate selection, yet they label the opposition leader as Ilbe," calling it "shameless and brazen."
