A strong earthquake with a magnitude over 7 struck Taiwan, causing widespread damage, and scenes of local obstetric nurses rushing to protect newborns were captured.

On the 3rd (local time), Taiwanese media outlet 'Jizhe Poxiao Wang' reported CCTV footage filmed at a hospital in Taipei on the same day. The footage, taken on the morning of the 3rd when a magnitude 7.2 earthquake occurred, showed nurses immediately gathering and holding onto the beds where newborns were lying as the floor shook violently. There was also a nurse who ran into the room from another location to protect the newborns.

Regarding their actions, the nurses explained, "The protocol during an earthquake is to check whether the babies are far from falling objects or glass that could injure them, secure the baby beds, then secure escape routes and verify that doors operate normally." Fortunately, all the babies were reported to be safe.

Meanwhile, the earthquake that occurred on the 3rd in the eastern sea area of Taiwan is the strongest since the '921 Earthquake' in 1999. In particular, a tsunami warning with waves up to 3 meters high was issued for Okinawa, Japan, about 700 km away from the earthquake epicenter. As a result of this earthquake, it has been reported that 9 people have died and over 1,000 have been injured across Taiwan.
