First, the police plan to preemptively prevent and block attempts to harm key party figures and firmly respond to election violence crimes, including terrorism against election-related personnel.

Additionally, they will prevent attempts by YouTubers and others to intrude into voting and counting stations and cause disturbances nearby, ensure thorough security maintenance around these locations, and plan to respond swiftly and thoroughly to fake news using deepfakes related to the five major election crimes.

Regarding growing concerns about election fraud, such as recent cases of illegal camera installations at early voting stations, the police will support inspections of illegal camera installations at early voting and main polling stations nationwide upon request from the Central Election Commission.

Commissioner Yoon said, “Police officers will accompany the entire process of transporting early voting ballots as well as the main ballots to ensure transparent election proceedings,” adding, “We will strengthen intelligence gathering activities on cases with potential election fraud, such as irregularities in voting and counting and interference with ballot box transport, and conduct strict investigations based on a zero-tolerance policy.”

He continued, “We will hold accountable those responsible for illegal acts even after the election ends,” and added, “All situations will be directly managed by city and provincial police chiefs and police station chiefs, and during the early and main voting periods, emergency duty will be declared to concentrate police capabilities.”
