According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the estimated focal depth is 40 km, and there is no tsunami warning related to this earthquake.
This earthquake caused shaking of up to seismic intensity 4 in the northeastern Honshu region, including Fukushima Prefecture, Iwate Prefecture, and Miyagi Prefecture. Seismic intensity 4 means most people are startled, and ceiling-hung lights shake significantly.
