Suncheon City Provides 24-Hour Local Tax Consultation via Chatbot

Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Nogwan-gyu) announced that it is providing an intelligent local tax consultation service 24 hours a day through the local tax 'chatbot' to resolve taxpayers' questions and improve payment convenience.

The local tax consultation 'WETAX Bot' guides and consults on local tax payment timing, payment methods, exemption information, and more. It is also a digital local tax consultation platform (provided by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety) that delivers various news, benefits, and information related to local taxes via messages.

In particular, the 'WETAX Bot' allows users to select from six frequently inquired local tax categories, including automobile tax, property tax, and acquisition tax, or ask questions directly to obtain the desired information. Taxpayers can receive benefit information through personalized guidance.

To use the 'WETAX Bot,' taxpayers can easily access it via the KakaoTalk local tax consultation WETAX Bot channel or by visiting the local tax website on the internet or smartphone. It is also accessible through the 'WETAX Bot' QR code on local tax bills.

The city stated that previously, taxpayers had to inquire at civil service counters or visit tax officers directly to resolve questions about local taxes, which was inconvenient. However, with the 'WETAX Bot,' 24-hour local tax civil service consultation is now available regardless of time, which is expected to alleviate these inconveniences.

A city official said, "We will continue to develop various tax policies that meet citizens' needs to enhance citizen satisfaction and improve taxpayers' convenience by utilizing digital technology."
