Discovering Vulnerable Households, Checking Welfare, and Solving Social Issues
Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 4th that it has signed a business agreement with KEPCO MCS Co., Ltd. to discover and support welfare blind spots.
When KEPCO MCS employees, who perform electricity meter reading and bill delinquency management, find households that are suspected to be cut off due to unpaid electricity bills or are in crisis situations, they will immediately request support from the county's Hope Welfare Team and cooperate to provide welfare services through prompt counseling.
In addition, Boseong-gun plans to actively support by appointing eight KEPCO MCS employees as honorary social welfare officers, providing training on reporting methods and activity guidelines, and linking services so that crisis households can be detected early through checking on local residents' well-being.
Yoon Jeong-hee, head of KEPCO MCS Boseong branch, said, "In addition to electricity meter reading tasks, we will actively cooperate to contribute to the local community by discovering crisis households and checking on their well-being to solve social problems."
Kim Cheol-woo, mayor of Boseong-gun, said, "We will build a more solid welfare safety net through public-private cooperation to discover crisis households and eliminate welfare blind spots." He added, "We will listen carefully to the welfare needs of each citizen and become a happy Boseong-gun with a reliable, life-close crisis household discovery and support system."
