Director Yeo, who extorted 300 million won from the late Lee Seon-gyun, "Disagrees with the prosecution's interrogation record being accepted as evidence"

The manager of a nightlife establishment, who was indicted for extorting 300 million won by threatening the late actor Lee Seon-gyun, did not agree to the adoption of her suspect interrogation record as evidence in court.

On the 4th, during the second trial of the nightlife establishment manager A (30, female) held under the presiding of Judge Hong Eun-sook at the Incheon District Court Criminal Division 4, the prosecution stated, "The defendant did not agree to the entire suspect interrogation record (prepared during the prosecution investigation) being admitted as evidence," and added, "We will proceed with the defendant's interrogation at the next trial."

Since 2022, if the defendant does not consent, the suspect interrogation record prepared by the prosecutor cannot be used as evidence in court.

On this day, A’s defense attorney denied not only A’s suspect interrogation record but also the statement record of former actress B (29, female), who was jointly indicted on charges including extortion, on the grounds that the contents were inconsistent with the facts.

On the other hand, B’s defense attorney did not change the position stated at the first trial last month. When the court asked, "Do you still generally acknowledge the facts of the indictment?" B’s defense attorney replied, "Yes."

The prosecution and A’s side applied to call a friend of Lee, who delivered money on Lee’s behalf, as a witness, and the court accepted the request.

A was indicted on charges of extorting 300 million won by calling Lee in September last year and saying, "My phone was hacked and I am being threatened, so I need money to keep quiet." Police investigations later revealed that the hacker threatening A at the time was B, who lived in the same apartment and was on friendly terms with A.

After learning that A had used methamphetamine and was close to Lee, B impersonated the hacker using an illegal SIM chip and committed the crime. However, when B failed to extort money from A, he directly threatened Lee. B was prosecuted for threatening Lee in October last year by demanding 100 million won and ultimately extorting 50 million won.
