Actress Oh Yeon-seo donated 10 million won to the Korean Red Cross again this year.
The Korean Red Cross Seoul Metropolitan Chapter (Chairman Kwon Young-gyu) announced on the 4th that actress Oh Yeon-seo has been delivering special Red Cross membership fees every year since 2013 to support vulnerable groups in the local community. The Seoul chapter plans to use Oh Yeon-seo's donation to support the Hope Windmill Partnership Project, which regularly provides side dishes and relief supplies to vulnerable groups in the community. Oh Yeon-seo said in a message, "I was able to naturally learn sharing by being beside my mother, who is a Red Cross volunteer," and added, "Although it is a small effort, I will support so that financial difficulties do not become a barrier to children's dreams."
Kwon Young-gyu, chairman of the Korean Red Cross Seoul chapter, said, "It is truly difficult to donate consistently for over 10 years without missing a single year," and added, "We are grateful for actress Oh Yeon-seo's steady practice of sharing and hope that her positive influence spreads widely." The Seoul chapter also noted that the cumulative donations Oh Yeon-seo has made over more than 10 years have exceeded 150 million won, and that she has joined the Red Cross Honors Club, a group of major donors to the Red Cross.
Previously, in 2022, Oh Yeon-seo was recognized for leading a culture of sharing and making a positive impact on the local community by receiving the Minister of Health and Welfare Award at the 11th National Sharing Awards.
