Ulju-gun, Visiting 'Radiation Disaster Prevention' Resident Education

Ulsan Ulju-gun (Governor Lee Soon-geol) will begin the '2024 One Step Closer! Visiting Radiation Disaster Prevention Resident Education' starting with the Cheongnyang-eup Volunteer Fire Brigade and targeting town and township social organizations as well as residents of Seosaeng-myeon by mid-October.

This education program is designed to teach residents the action guidelines during radiation emergencies to enhance their proactive response capabilities and raise safety awareness in preparation for radiation disasters.

It provides basic knowledge about radiation disaster prevention, including radiation disaster prevention systems and the effects of radiation on the human body, along with customized information tailored to each village.

Ulju-gun plans to improve the quality of radiation disaster prevention education by utilizing instructors trained at the 'Ulju Radiation Disaster Prevention Academy' to deliver education that meets the residents' level of understanding.

An official from Ulju-gun stated, "Ulsan, due to its proximity to multiple nuclear power plants, deeply recognizes the necessity of disaster prevention education and training. We will expand the scope of education to various social organizations and conduct visiting radiation disaster prevention education to make Ulju-gun safe from radiation disasters."
